Confidential retained search. A Federal/Public Sector adjacent organization is seeking a Chief Accessibility Officer & Inclusion Lead to shape and implement enterprise-wide accessibility strategies and foster inclusive workplace cultures. This senior executive role focuses on policy reform, removing systemic accessibility barriers and embedding inclusion across the organization. Compensation: $150,000–$190,000+ base + comprehensive benefits and pension.
What you'll do
- Shape and implement enterprise-wide accessibility strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory expectations
- Foster inclusive workplace cultures that support employees, stakeholders and the public
- Drive policy reform across accessibility, disability inclusion and equitable service delivery
- Identify and eliminate systemic accessibility barriers in programs, processes, facilities, communications and technology
- Advise executive leadership and senior stakeholders on accessibility, inclusion and compliance priorities
- Develop and govern accessibility standards, frameworks and operating models across the enterprise
- Partner with HR, IT, legal, procurement and program teams to embed accessibility into design and operations
- Build and lead cross-functional initiatives that advance disability inclusion and accessibility maturity
- Engage with employees, advocacy groups, regulatory bodies and community partners to inform strategy
- Monitor accessibility trends, legislation and best practices to keep the organization ahead of change
- Establish metrics, reporting and accountability mechanisms for accessibility and inclusion outcomes
- Represent the organization as a credible leader on accessibility and inclusion internally and externally
What we're looking for
- Significant experience in policy development related to accessibility, disability inclusion or equity
- Proven background in workplace trauma advocacy, accessibility advocacy or related inclusion work
- Demonstrated public-sector leadership experience or experience working with Federal/Public Sector adjacent organizations
- Track record of shaping and implementing enterprise-wide strategies, policies or programs
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, frameworks and systemic barriers in workplace and service environments
- Ability to influence and advise senior executives, stakeholders and external partners
- Exceptional communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills
- Strong judgment, ethics and discretion appropriate to confidential, mission-sensitive work
- Experience leading change in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in public policy, law, disability studies, organizational development or a related field
- Certifications in accessibility (CPACC, WAS, ADS) or inclusion-related disciplines
- Experience with Section 508, ADA, AODA or comparable accessibility regulations
- Track record in a confidential retained executive search or sensitive public-sector appointment
